Matthew Baker is excited to be in his eleventh year of education and his fifth year in the Fairfield City School District. He currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities for Fairfield High School, which includes directing three concert choirs and the two award-winning show choirs, Choraliers and Pure Elegance, with assistance from Kelly Massie and Briana Baker. In addition, he assists Briana Baker and Kelly Massie with the middle school show choir, Rhythm Express. He completed his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University in 2015 and his master’s in music
education at Kent State University in the Fall  of 2025.

Matthew spent the first six years of his career
working in the Hamilton City School District,
where he directed the 7th and 8th-grade choirs and Hamilton Middle School’s competition show choir, Cutting Edge. During his time there, his group was awarded captions for Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Concept, and frequently placed in the top of their division. Matthew is truly honored to be one of the directors of the Fairfield Choral Program.

Mrs. Briana Baker is currently the Director of Choirs at Creekside Middle School in Fairfield, Ohio, and also serves as director of Fairfield’s Rhythm Express show choir. Under her direction, Mrs. Baker’s choirs frequently place in the top of their division and have won several awards, including Best Vocals, Best Baritone Section, Best Costumes, Best Show Design, and numerous Grand Champion awards. Mrs. Baker is a 2015 cum laude graduate of Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio, and is in her 11th year of teaching. Before joining the choral music department in Fairfield, Mrs. Baker taught elementary music, choir, and show choir in the
Hamilton City School District for six years. Mrs. Baker has certifications in Music Learning Theory and Orff-Schulwerk. She also serves on the Ohio GIML (The Gordon Institute for Music Learning) Executive Board as secretary. Mrs. Baker resides in Liberty Township, Ohio, with her husband and her son, Ezekiel. Mrs. Baker feels blessed to work
with the wonderful students in Rhythm Express and to be a part of the choral music program in Fairfield.

Mrs. Massie is in her 16th year of teaching music in the Fairfield City School District, and this is her second year at Crossroads Middle School. This is her fourth year as assistant director for Fairfield Show Choirs. She also directs the select choir at Crossroads Middle School and assists the high school drama department with costumes and vocal direction for the spring musical. Mrs. Massie is a Fairfield alumna, having been a member of both Rhythm Express and Choraliers. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Anderson University and her master’s degree from Boston University, both in Music Education. She is married and has two amazing kids—a son (a junior at Wright State University) studying mechanical engineering and a daughter (a senior here at Fairfield) involved in theater, art, and Fairfield Show Choir’s Heartbeat. Mrs. Massie loves being a part of the show choir world.
