FAQ's

How are students selected? Students are selected on many factors. The typical factors like skill set and ability to perform are used, but also things like behavior, work ethic, and commitment also play roles. Another two equally important elements for our team are curiosity and flexibility. Our directors try to figure out if each performer has a learning curve and if they’re able to confidently tackle new challenges on the spot. There’s something magical about a group in which every single member is striving to better themselves, to imagine an even higher plane of performance. With a group like that, every rehearsal and every performance feels fresh.

Should I dress up for my audition? That is completely up to you. Some people like to put their best foot forward. However, if you are doing a dance audition, you should be in clothes that you can comfortably move in.

What are some tips for my vocal audition?

- Practice your audition enough that you feel more than confident on it so that you feel good about it.

- Remember that it is natural to get nervous. Even returning members get nervous in auditions.

- Present yourself in the best light possible.

- Let us get to know your personality in auditions - don't be scared to be you!

- Remember that we are cheering on everyone that comes through the door - we don't want to see anyone fail! We are on your side!

What if I am having trouble submitting a video? Contact Mr. Mercer.

Who watches the audition videos? The videos are only watched by the team of directors/staff.

If I didn't make any list, can I re-audition for this coming year? Yes, but it will have to be before May 15. Prove us wrong. We love a good comeback. To discuss this, reach out to Mr. Mercer.

If I didn't make the group I wanted, but did make a group, can I re-audition? Sorry, but we will not audition you again to move groups.

Can we get feedback on the audition? You can e-mail or schedule a time to meet about your audition one week after results have been posted. We are happy to give feedback on the actual audition, but will not speak about the audition in comparison to another student's audition.

Is financial aid available? A VERY limited amount of financial aid to the program is available. If you want to apply for financial aid, then please fill out the online Financial Aid Request Form.

Can I double (do more than one show choir)? All students in grades 7-12 are eligible to double as long as they have been in show choir for at least one year OR have direct permission from the directors.

When will audition results be posted? Lists will be announced shortly after the audition process has been completed. Please be patient! They will be posted on the website.
